Feature flags

We use LaunchDarkly, a feature-management service, to turn parts of this website on or off without releasing a new version. It only runs after you accept cookies; until then you see the site's default content and nothing is sent to LaunchDarkly.

Once you accept, your browser stores a randomly generated, anonymous identifier in local storage so you see consistent content between visits. Your browser keeps a connection open to LaunchDarkly to receive updates, and sends it that identifier along with which features were shown to you. LaunchDarkly also receives the technical details any web request includes, such as your IP address and browser type. We never send your name, email address, or any other personal details, and we only use this to decide what content to show.
